Wii Sports
The Wii also comes bundled with Wii Sports, which lets one to four people play tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. For interactive play you'd need two remotes.
SNES
When the Wii is used as a Virtual Console to play SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) titles, either a classic controller or GameCube controller is needed.
N64
N64 titles that Wii owners download from the Wii Store cannot be played with the Wii remote. Like the SNES titles, a classic controller or GameCube controller is required.
NEOGEO and Sega Genesis
Not all NEOGEO and Sega Genesis titles (available by download) can be played with the Wii remote, so having a classic or GameCube controller on hand is a good idea.
Controllers Needed
When buying games for the Wii, either through download or when buying a boxed disc, the types of controllers the games use are listed.
Extra Controllers
Extra controllers for the Wii, including the classic controller, can be bought through retailers or online through Nintendo. Attachments for the remote, for instance, a Wii wheel into which the remote sits for games like Mario Kart, are available at the same outlets.
