How to Install Free Opera Browser on Wii

The Nintendo Wii comes with a built in WiFi adapter that allows it to connect to the Internet for various activities including online play, downloadable content and web browsing. The Opera browser is the primary web browser for the Wii. Originally, it would cost 500 Wii points. Now, it is available for free. The Opera browser is a full HTML browser with limited flash support. It is especially easy to navigate using the Wii remote.

Instructions

      Turn your Wii on. Go to the Wii home menu.

      Select the "Wii Shop" channel. This is available by default on all Wiis. Agree to the license agreement if prompted.

      Select "Start Shopping."

      Select "Wii Channels." Select "Internet Channels." The Opera browser is free, so ignore the prompt mentioning Wii points. Select "Yes" to confirm and begin the download.

      Go to the Wii home menu to access to Opera browser.
