How to Attach a Dance Pad to a Wii

Connecting a dance pad to a Wii allows you to play games like Dance Dance Revolution. Once the dance pad is attached, the gaming console will record your movement. Games that require a dance pad have a dance pad icon on the back of the gaming case. You cannot play these games unless you hook a dance pad up to the Wii gaming system.

Instructions

  Turn the Wii gaming console so it is standing vertically, not sitting horizontally. When it is standing up and down, the power light will be on the top left hand corner.

  Flip open the lid to a white door on the top of the Wii. Once open, you will see four holes, or ports, where you can attach a device like a dance pad.

  Plug the cord from dance pad into one of the ports. Apply enough pressure so the entire plug from the dance pad is inserted into the Wii device.

  Turn on the dance pad and Wii gaming console. Once both are turned on, the Wii console will attempt to synchronize with the dance pad. This is necessary to record your movement while playing a game that requires a dance pad. If the Wii does not recognize the dance pad, repeat the steps above.
