Turn the Wii on, and wait until the main menu appears. Using the Wii remote, Click on the "Wii" button on the bottom left-hand side of the screen.
Click on "Wii Settings."
Click on the blue arrow on the right-hand side of the screen. This will take you to the second page of the "Wii System Settings."
Select the "Internet" button, and then click on "Connection Settings."
Select an open connection. According to Nintendo, if the white bar on the screen says "none," the connection is open.
Select "Wireless Connection," and then "Search for Access Point." Press "OK." Nintendo says the Wii will then search for a wireless connection. This might take a minute or two.
Search for your name or the name of your Internet connection on the list of access points available. Click "Save" and then "OK" to select the access point. The Wii will then test the connection to make sure it can get online, according to Nintendo. This process might take a minute or two to complete.
