Things You'll Need
Instructions
Determine which memory card can be used with your Nintendo Wii. It will be either an SD or an SDHC card. The SDHC is a high capacity card. To use an SDHC card, you must have Wii Menu 4.0 on your Nintendo Wii. You can download this menu from the Nintendo website if you prefer to use an SDHC card.
Purchase an SD or SDHC card to use with your Wii. If you do not yet have Wii Menu 4.0 or above, you can only use SD cards that are 2GB or less. If you have updated your menu, you can use the 2GB or less SD cards or up to 32GB SDHC cards. While most brands will work with the Wii, Nintendo has certain brands that are tested and licensed. A Nintendo seal will be on the packages of licensed memory cards.
Purchase a Mini SD or Micro SD card adapter if you have a Mini or Micro SD card from another device. This may be a card from your camera or MP3 player which contains photos or music that you want to put on your Wii. Put your Mini or Micro SD card into the adapter. It slides directly into the opening on the adapter.
Turn off your Wii. Open the SD card slot cover, which is located on the front of the Wii. Insert the card with the label facing the slot for game discs. Turn the Wii back on.
Select "Wii Settings" from the Wii menu. You will see the icon on the bottom left of the menu screen. Select "Data Management," "Save Data," and then the "Wii" tab. This will show all data that is currently saved to your Wii system.
Choose the file you wish to save to your memory card by selecting "Copy." Then select "Yes" to "Copy to SD Card." Your Wii Save that you selected will be put on your memory card.
