Decide how much you are willing to spend on a used Wii. New ones average $250, so you probably will not want to pay that high unless it has been slightly used or in mint condition.
Look for accessories that come with the Wii. A new Wii comes with one controller with a jacket and Nunchuk, the sensor bar, power cord, Wii stand, composite cable and Wii Sports. Make allowances for missing parts and regard anything extra as a bonus. Ask to test the parts to make sure they are in working order.
Check local game shops that buy and sell used consoles and games, such as EB Games. Game shops are reliable sources for a used Wii as they test everything before buying it. Game shops may offer discounts for trade-ins or bundle purchases.
Check local flea markets or yard sales, which often offer good deals an used items people are looking to get rid of fast. Verify everything is in working order. Ask them to demonstrate by plugging the console in and be wary of any frayed cords or marks on the sensors.
Check online auctions such as eBay. Do an advanced search and narrow it down to Electronics or Video Games. You can also enter price ranges and other options such as Buy It Now. Make sure you verify the item description, seller feedback and shipping costs before bidding.
Check Amazon or other online retailers that sell used or refurbished items. Refurbished items often come with a warranty. Amazon has private sellers that sell new and used items, including electronics.
