Select one player to play against the computer. The computer does not automatically give you the lowest-rated players to compete against. If you lose, you will play lower-rated players until you master the skills to win.
Beat the computer. This seems obvious enough, but as your skill improves and you play better players, just beating them will not be good enough. You can lose skill points by winning a close match against a team of similar level.
Keep match scores close against better teams. While you may lose, keeping the score close will help to improve skill points.
Find a second team player. If you are still having trouble increasing skill points, have a second player join your team. This will only work if your team competes against the computer. If your teammate's skills and your skills work well together to beat the computer, skill points will increase for both players.
Beat similar skilled opponents decidedly. Letting the score go to deuce will only win a few points or could actually lose points.
