How to Clean a Wii CD

Wii CDs can become dirty if games are mistreated or handled carelessly before and after being played. It's a good idea to explain to players the proper way of handling them to avoid dirt, or even worse, scratches. Eating and drinking while handling the CD is not a good idea. Accidents happen; however, some can be avoided if the Wii CD is carefully placed back in the video game case when not in use. If the CD manages to get dirty in spite of careful handling, you can easily clean it in just a few steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Wipe the Wii CD with a lent-free cloth to remove the dust and particles that have collected on it. Be sure you hold the edges while removing the dust with the cloth.

    • 2

Clean the CD with a disk-cleaning product that you can find at the local video game store or any place that sells electronics. Do not use any household cleaning products on the Wii CD.

    • 3

Use toothpaste to clean an extremely dirty Wii CD that a lent-free cloth alone cannot clean. The toothpaste will remove the tough dirt and can also help with a CD that may have been scratched.

    • 4

Hold the edges of the CD lightly. Clean the CD with the other hand by massaging the toothpaste onto the Wii CD in a circular motion. Be sure you do not press down too hard, as they can break easily.

    • 5

Remove the toothpaste from the Wii CD by rinsing it in lukewarm water. Using your finger, wash off the excess toothpaste. Use a lent-free cloth to wipe away any remnants that may remain on the CD.

    • 6

Hold the CD by the edges and look to see if it's completely dry and free of dirt or smudges. Dry the entire Wii CD with a fresh lent-free cloth before inserting it into the game console.
