Purchase or rent the Nintendo Wii game entitled "Zelda: Twilight Princess." A glitch in the game allows players to install the Homebrew Channel on their Nintendo Wii, and the only way to do this is by using the game.
Transfer the Zelda saved game files and the Homebrew Channel installer to a 512 megabyte SD card. Any other size SD card will not work properly for the hack. You can find the files at the official Homebrew website (see "Additional Resources," below). Simply drag and drop the files onto the root of the SD card.
Insert the SD card into your Wii and start the console. Go to the Wii menu and select the "Data Management" menu. Here you can see all of your saved files along with the contents of the SD card.
Move the Zelda saved game file from the SD card to your system by selecting it and clicking on the "Copy" button. Wait a second and the file will be moved to your system. Next, delete the currently saved Zelda game you have on the system so that there is no interference.
Restart the Wii and load the "Zelda: Twilight Princess" game. When the menu prompts you to load a saved game file, select the file number that matches the number of the disc. In most cases this will either be 00 or 01.
Run backwards with Zelda by pressing down on the joystick. Your screen will flicker, turn to black, and the installation process should begin. Press "A" on your remote to install the Homebrew Channel and Browser.
Wait for the Homebrew Browser to fully install and automatically reset your Wii. Once it has, find the Homebrew Channel that is located on the main Wii menu. It will feature "wave" graphics and say "Homebrew" on it.
Give the channel a minute to load. Once it has, select "Homebrew Browser" using your Wii remote. The Homebrew Browser will take a minute to load and automatically connect to the wireless network.
Use the Wii remote to select the "Applications" option within the browser. Here you will find a wide selection of media players. Select the most popular media player because it is the most successful. Use the remote to select the "Download" button and wait for the download to complete.
Take your SD card out of the Wii and insert it back into your computer. Add all of the video files that you wish to view on your Wii. Insert the card back into your Wii and load the Media player. Enjoy the videos.
