How to Unlock Secret Cups on Mario Kart Wii

The game "Mario Kart Wii" for the Nintendo Wii allows players to race each other as their favorite Nintendo characters, such as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser. You can complete several racing Cups, which must be unlocked in successive order. If you want to progress to the secret Mirror Mode challenge, you must complete all of the Cups in the game.

Instructions

  Start a new game file or continue an existing one. You must win the Mushroom Cup and the Flower Cup to advance to the Special Cup. Winning the Cups means placing first, second or third in each of the four races in each Cup. Once you have done so, you can move on to the Star Cup.

  Place first, second or third overall in the Star Cup to move on to the Special Cup.

  Complete the Shell and Banana Cups to unlock the Leaf Cup. Win the Leaf Cup to unlock the Lightning Cup.

  Complete every Cup on the hardest difficulty, 150cc's, to unlock the secret Mirror Mode, in which everything is reversed -- left becomes right and right becomes left on the controller. Complete the regular Cups in Mirror Mode to unlock the special cups in Mirror Mode.
