Things You'll Need
Instructions
Make sure that you have an Ethernet cable that is connected directly to your modem or wired router. The Ethernet cord should be long enough to reach the location of your Wii game console.
Turn off the power to the Wii game console. It may be best to completely unplug the power supply from the back of the Wii. Insert the LAN adapter all the way into the USB port that is on the back of the Wii console.
Find the Ethernet outlet on the Wii game console. Take the Ethernet cord that is connected to your modem and connect it to the outlet in the Wii. Push the Ethernet cord in until you hear it click into place.
Plug the power supply back into the Wii console and turn it back on. When the Wii menu appears on screen, click on the "Wii" logo on the bottom left-hand side of the screen.
Click on "Wii Settings" to change the settings that will allow the Wii console to communicate correctly with the Wii LAN adapter that is hooked into the USB port.
Click on the blue arrow when the next screen appears, to move the screen to the right. Then select "Internet." Finish the setup process by selecting "Connection Settings," then "None," then "Wired Connection" and "OK."
