Troubleshooting a Disc Stuck in Nintendo Wii

A Nintendo Wii is a relatively user-friendly video game console. It is made to introduce non-gamers into the gaming world and offers cute graphics and intuitive design. It's pretty much ready to go as soon as you buy it. But, as with all consoles, no matter how user friendly they may be, there may be a point where things go a little wrong. If a disc gets caught in a Wii, don't fret. You may be able to take a few simple steps to troubleshoot, and if all else fails, you can always send it to Nintendo for repair.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the Wii off and on again after about 20 seconds. Press the eject button again.

    • 2

Unplug the Wii's AC power supply if Step 1 doesn't work. Wait 1 to 2 minutes, and trying to eject the disc again after turning the Wii back on.

    • 3

Hold down the eject button for 5 to 10 seconds.

    • 4

Try ejecting the disc with the Wii at different angles. If you hold the Wii upside down, it may help the disc fall out.

    • 5

Call Nintendo and send the Wii back if non of these steps work. In most cases, a disc stuck in the Wii should be covered by warranty.
