The Basics
Attach the Nunchuck controller to the Wii Remote. Slide the Wii Remote's wrist strap around your wrist.
Hold the Nunchuck controller and the Wii Remote vertically in front of your chest.
Punch by thrusting controller forward in the hand you want to use for the punch. A downward punch aims for the body, and an upward punch aims for your opponent's head. Judge what type of punch is needed and apply the appropriate power for weak, medium or power punches. Power punches do a lot of damage but take longer for the thrower to recover from.
Block by holding both the Wii Remote and Nunchuck in front of you. For a high guard that protects your face, hold the Wii Remote and Nunchuck vertically and then tilt the controllers inward. To protect your body with a mid-guard, hold the Wii Remote and Nunchuck parallel to the ground. Tilt inward to protect the center of the body.
Shift your position as your opponent throws punches toward you by shifting your body left, right, forward and back while holding the Wii Remote and Nunchuck vertically.
The Punch Moves
Complete left and right high jabs by holding the Wii Remote or Nunchuck vertically based on the hand you want to use to jab. Make sure the controls are facing you and jerk forward with your wrist. Keep the punching arm stationary.
Perform left and right mid-jabs by holding the Wii Remote or Nunchuck parallel to the ground. Jerk the controller downward, keeping the punching arm stationary.
Surprise your opponent with either a left or right uppercut. Hold either the Wii Remote or Nunchuck so that it is parallel to the ground. Jerk the controller upward.
Throw a left or right high hook by holding the Wii Remote or Nunchuck controller vertically and rotating to the left so that it is horizontal. The controller's buttons should be facing you as you complete this move.
Punch your opponent with a left or right mid-hook, or low hook, by holding the Wii Remote or Nunchuck controller parallel to the ground. Turn the entire controller counterclockwise for a right hook or clockwise for a left hook. The controller should face outwards to your right or left, depending on the move. Jerk the controller in the direction that the controller is facing.
