How to Get Past the Security Cameras on Counterfeit Island

Part of the Poptropica Worldwide online community for kids, "Counterfeit Island" is a criminal investigation-themed game that tests a player's detective skills. The main plot involves capturing an international art thief named the Black Widow who is determined to steal a famous painting. Before you can catch the true culprit, you must first prove your innocence after being framed for the crime. Part of your defense involves using security camera footage to identify a key suspect.

Instructions

  Pass the lie detector test to get out of jail. Receive instructions to meet the chief inspector in the museum's security office. Leave downtown and head back to the museum.

  Stop at Bobo's clown store on the way to the museum. Find the security guard there and talk to him. Get his time card to prove when he was absent from his post. Inspect the time card to learn the guard had left for 12 minutes near 4 o'clock.

  Return to the museum's security office. Present the guard's time card to the chief inspector. Play the security camera footage and use the guard's time card information to pinpoint the precise portion of the tape containing the time when the guard was absent from his post.

  Watch the screen to see the mysterious guy you had met earlier in the game appear and walk towards the stolen panting. Click "Print Screen" to capture an image of the screen displaying the mystery guy's picture.

  Print the screen capture and talk to the chief inspector. Follow her instructions and take the photo outside to ask people if they can identify the mystery man. Pursuing the leads will advance you to the next part of the game.
