How Do You Scare the Owl on Poptropica?

The Astro Knights Island in the online game "Poptropica" features a mechanical owl named Merlin who comes in handy during your quest. The owl is found in a secret room beneath a locked trap door near the mill. You can befriend the owl, but to do so, you must first scare it out of the secret room. Once the owl is scared out of the secret room, it can be found flying around outside, where you can feed it a mouse to earn back its trust.

Instructions

      Log in to the game, and select "Astro Knights Island" from the level select map.

      Walk all the way to the right from your starting point until you reach the castle.

      Enter the large double doors and then enter the door to the left, which is next to the stairs.

      Pick up the secret letter lying on top of the chest in the room, and then exit the castle.

      Continue to the right until you reach "Ye Olde Rumour Mille" and enter the door.

      Jump up the hay bales on the left corner of the mill, and then cross the platforms to reach the girl standing at the top.

      Talk to the girl to exchange the secret message for the cosmic symbols, and then exit the mill.

      Go back to the fountain and click the symbols on the base. Click the crescent moon, the ringed planet and the five-pointed star as indicated on the cosmic symbols paper. Next, click the large sun in the center to open a secret passage.

      Go down the secret passage. Talk to the boy with the buck teeth to receive a small key.

      Exit the fountain and walk right (towards the mill) until you reach two hay bales lying on the ground.

      Push the hay bales to the right, and then jump between the two bales. Push the left bale towards the left to reveal a secret trap door.

      Use the small key on the trap door to unlock it and then go down.

      Slide down the rope, and then jump on the table with the computer. From the table, jump on the perch with the owl to scare it into flying out of the trap door. The owl will now be flying around outside.
