Description
The Blade of Awe is a powerful Earth weapon that strengthens exponentially in relation to the player̵7;s level. Players who successfully piece together the blade can exchange the finished item for a Spear, Staff or Dagger of Awe. You also have the option of obtaining a different elemental version of the sword, including Fire, Wind, Darkness and Ice. This is particularly useful when battling monsters with a specific elemental weakness. The Blade of Awe is a coveted weapon known for its six special moves. The most notable of them is Power Word Die, which can destroy certain opponents instantly. However, these special moves activate randomly during combat and cannot be relied upon when planning your attack.
Finding the Blade
The Blade of Awe is divided into five segments: the hilt, handle, blade, runes and Stonewrit. Its pieces are obtained from rare treasure chests dropped by defeated monsters, most commonly at the end of special travel quests. Players can increase their chances of finding a piece by visiting the Crossroads and choosing the ̶0;Somewhere?̶1; option, which randomly selects a travel quest for you to complete. Selecting a quest from the travel map transports you to a specific locale, where you are challenged to defeat a boss and several minions from that region.
Forging the Blade
While Adventurers can collect sword pieces from treasure chest, you must have a Guardian level membership in order to assemble the Blade of Awe. After finding all of the pieces, you can visit the rare-item collector, Valencia, to have the sword forged. As a lover of extraordinary items, Valencia will claim your Guardian sword in exchange for the Blade of Awe. Unlike the blade, the Staff of Awe doesn̵7;t have to be assembled. You can speak with Valencia again to trade in the sword for the staff, spear or dagger.
Considerations
The major distinction between the Blade of Awe and Staff of Awe is the attack style. As a melee weapon, the blade is preferable for close, high-impact combat, while staffs are associated with magical attacks. When switching between weapons, it is important to consider differences in how damage is dealt. For example, players with a higher strength level can deal more damage with a blade, while greater intellect increases the effectiveness of magical attacks.
