EVE Rifter Nano Vs. Overdrive

̶0;EVE Online̶1; puts players in the pilot seat of a variety of interstellar craft in an open-ended space simulation game. Players may choose from a wide selection of ships and roles in the game̵7;s society, and even set up their own in-game corporations. Rifter pilots typically choose the Rifter ship due to its speed and combat abilities. Fitting nanofiber or overdrive injector structural modifications can dramatically change the statistics of this powerful vessel.

The Rifter
- The Rifter-class ship offers a very fast attack vessel that requires few pilot skills from the outset. As a small combat frigate, many pilots can fly this vessel within their first few days in ̶0;EVE Online.̶1; The ship remains a favorite for low-level NPC pirate hunters and advanced player pirates alike due to its velocity, agility and ability to fit a large number of useful turrets and tools for a variety of combat purposes. The Rifter has a very small cargo hold, common for non-mining frigates, and works best for solo or gang combat.
Overdrive Injectors
- Overdrive injectors allow a Rifter pilot to increase his maximum velocity. Higher velocity allows you to avoid enemy missiles and increases your likelihood of obtaining a solid transversal angle to avoid incoming turret fire. Greater velocity also allows you to move more quickly when not using your ship̵7;s primary warp capabilities. Overdrive injectors have no effect on Afterburner or MicroWarpdrive effectiveness, nor do they increase agility or decrease mass.
Nanofiber Structure Modifications
- Nanofiber structure modifications decrease the overall mass of your Rifter. A decrease in mass directly translates to increased velocity when using Afterburners and MicroWarpdrives, and the overall agility of the ship also increases. Increased agility allows you to align quickly to warp points -- follow targets attempting to warp out of the immediate area or escape combat yourself. The Rifter is a naturally fast and agile vessel, and the addition of this modification increases its agility to match that of some of the most agile ships available.
Choosing the Right Combination
- The choice of structural modifications comes down to the type of career you want to pursue in ̶0;EVE Online.̶1; Pirates, pirate hunters and those engaged in regular player-versus-player combat benefit greatly from nanofiber modifications to assist with tracking and engaging prey in open space. If you̵7;re looking to use a Rifter to deliver documents and other small items as a speedy courier vessel or to run non-combat missions, overdrive injectors will help you move quickly between autopilot and jump gate points. Agility only becomes a factor for couriers or mission runners when engaged by player or NPC pirates.
