What Does Command Mode Do in Mabinogi?

Play the online MMORPG "Mabinogi" and explore digital lands in a fantasy setting. As you play the game and come to meet other players, you may hear people discussing "command mode." Once you know what command mode is and what it does, you'll find that your "Mabinogi" playing experience becomes easier and faster.
  1. Commands

    • "Commands" refer to actions you, as the player, instruct your avatar in the game to do. It can also refer to commands you give to your "Mabinogi" pets. For example, if you want your pet to "heal" your avatar during battle, you normally right-click on the pet on screen and select "heal" from a menu. Similarly, you right-click on your avatar and select a command like "summon" to make your avatar call up a monster to fight alongside you.

    Command Mode

    • Entering command mode simply means that you use shortcuts to execute commands for your avatar or for your pet in lieu of right-clicking on them and manually selecting what you want them to do. You can enter command mode in one of two ways: through type commands, which you type into your avatar's dialog box, and through hotkeys, which you set ahead of time.

    Type Commands

    • In order to type commands, you simply type the appropriate command into the dialog box while you play the game. To execute pet commands, your pet must be onscreen. For example, you can command your avatar to smile by typing, ":)" and make him express pain by typing, "*_*". You can make your pet stand by typing, "Stand!" and you can make your pet run up to you by typing, "Summon [X]," with the "[X]" standing in for your pet's name.

    Command Hotkeys

    • You can program 12 commands into hotkeys, one for each of the function keys at the top of your keyboard. Go to "Options" on the main menu and select "Game" and "Control." Click on "Hotkey Settings." Scroll through the available commands that you can turn into shortcuts for each of the function keys and select "Save." Now, whenever you play the game, you simply hit the appropriate function key to enter command mode.
