'IMVU' Won't Let Me Give Credits

Play "IMVU" online and chat with friends who play the game in an avatar-based interface. Another part of the game involves purchasing digital items. To purchase items, you'll need in-game currency called "credits." You can transfer credits to friends who play. If you have trouble giving credits, your problem may have a common explanation.
  1. Limit

    • To prevent spammers from transferring and accumulating credits, "IMVU" places a limit on the number of credit transfers and the total number of credits each player can make per month and per day. The standard player can transfer no more than 10,000 credits in a month and no more than 5,000 credits in a single day. You're also limited to one credit transfer per day. Budget your credit transfers or upgrade to paid accounts to lift this limit. Watch the "IMVU" blog for occasions when the limits are relaxed, such as around the winter holidays.

    New Account

    • Because spammers are most likely to create a new account, make credit transfers and then abandon the account for yet another one, "IMVU" bars new players from giving credits at all. Once you make a new account, you must wait 30 days before you can give credits to another player. Keep your account active during this time to demonstrate that you're not a spammer by logging in and playing the game at least once a week.

    Not Purchased

    • You can earn credits by playing the game, participating in "IMVU" pages on social media and referring friends to the game, to name a few examples. However, you can't give these earned credits to other players. "IMVU" only allows players to transfer credits that they've purchased with actual money. Purchase cards with a credit card or PayPal account at the "IMVU" shop before you attempt to give credits to another player.

    Another Player

    • You can only give "IMVU" credits to another active "IMVU" player, and you need your gift recipient's "IMVU" avatar name to give the credits. The recipient will need to have completed the registration process by confirming her email address. If the player has an older account, she may have deleted her account or become inactive and can no longer receive credits. Try gifting credits to another player to see whether or not the problem lies with the recipient.
