Summoning the Scarlion
Marksmen who wish to hunt the Scarlion must speak with Lam in Kampung Village. Lam grants the player a special item, the Spirit of Fantasy Theme Park, and the ̶0;Off to the Fantasy Theme Park̶1; quest. The player must then travel to the Fantasy Theme Park zone and drop the Spirit of Fantasy Theme Park at the front of the Scarlion statue. The statue appears in the form of stuffed stone lion. Take care not to drop the item in front of the bear statue in the park. The bear statue summons a completely different boss creature.
Scarlion Stage I
Players face off against the animated Scarlion statue in the first round of the battle. The statue̵7;s color changes to a deep gold, similar to that of a real lion, and it begins to attack the marksman. Marksmen should summon the Frostprey pet and keep away from the Scarlion. The Frostprey deals ice damage, which causes critical hits. Players must avoid the Scarlion̵7;s swipe attacks and deal 50 million points of damage to overcome the first level of the Scarlion.
Angry Scarlion
The Scarlion̵7;s smiling face turns to a frown after the marksman inflicts 50 million points of damage. This, along with the experience gained by defeating the first stage, indicates the second stage. The monster's name changes to Angry Scarlion, and the marksman must avoid a constant barrage of squashing leap attacks. Marksmen should rely on the Elite Puppet ability to absorb some incoming damage from the Scarlion, and focus their energy on delivering at least 75 million points of damage through special attacks. Snipe may be particularly useful in this situation, provided the Scarlion focuses on the summoned pet instead of the marksman.
Furious Scarlion
The final stage of the Scarlion battle sees the monster's frown turn into an outright scowl. The Scarlion summons pets of his own, notably a black blob driving a mine cart, to help defeat the marksman. This is a good time for marksman players to use Maple Warrior, Sharp Eyes and Illusion Step to increase the marksman's abilities. The Furious Scarlion has the combined hit points of both previous versions, and requires 125 million points of damage to defeat.
