How to Move Up From Beginner in the Altador Cup

The online world of Neopia, home to virtual monsters called Neopets, hosts the Altador Cup every year. Teams and individual players compete against one another in four games, including the most celebrated game, "Yooyuball." Players earn points to use in the prize shop after the tournament ends. Every game won increases a player's rank. Your rank demonstrates your skill in the games to other players. All players start the Altador Cup at the Beginner rank, and with enough wins, you eventually rise to the All-Star rank.

Instructions

    • 1

Join one of the 18 teams during the team sign-up period. You cannot increase your rank unless you play for a team.

    • 2

Practice the games during the practice rounds. Practice time is typically scheduled on the same week as team sign-ups. You do not earn points for practicing, but it prepares you for the competition.

    • 3

Play every day during the Altador Cup. You and your team play daily against one other team. The team with the most points at the end of the day wins the round.

    • 4

Participate in "Yooyuball," a modified version of soccer, as many times as possible. This game awards more points than the other games. "Shootout Showdown" and "Make Some Noise" award the least points.

    • 5

Win "Yooyuball" 50 times or score 100 draws to move up from Beginner rank to Level 1. If you prefer not to play this game, 100 "Slushie Slinger" wins, 600 "Shootout Showdown" wins or 600 "Make Some Noise" wins also moves you up to Level 1. Playing a combination of these games is another way to level up.

    • 6

Continue playing and winning as many games as possible every day of the competition to increase your rank further. To reach the All-Star rank of Level 20, for example, you need 2,000 "Yooyuball" wins.
