Feeding "Mabinogi" Pets
Whenever you feed any pets in "Mabinogi," they will experience a slight status boost. For example, if your pet is low on stamina because you've ridden it for awhile, feeding the pet will boost its stamina quickly, although stamina naturally increases slowly if you let the pet walk alongside you instead of riding it. Other stats increased with food include strength and luck. Food does not affect a pet's growth. Only time affects growth. A pet grows one year older every one week of real time you play until it has aged to 15 years.
What to Feed
"Mabinogi" pets eat anything edible, whether you cook it first or not. For example, you can feed your pet tofu you purchased in a town shop or apples you picked off of a tree. There is nothing particular to feed a white cotton ostrich that you would not feed other pets. If you're looking to boost strength in particular, feed it grilled eel or fried abb neagh carp, which when rated five stars, boost strength 30 and 40 points respectively.
How to Feed
Summon your white cotton ostrich to you by clicking on the pet icon on the main screen or typing "Summon [Pet Name]" into the chat box, replacing [Pet Name] with whatever name you gave your ostrich. When the white cotton ostrich is on-screen, right click on the pet and select "Feed" from the menu. You'll see a pop-up of your current inventory. Click on what you want to feed it. You can't overfeed your pet and you may want to wait until the pet asks for food so you don't waste the gift.
Feeding Is Not Necessary
"Mabinogi" pets do not die or run away if you fail to feed them, even when they alert you that they are hungry. Your white cotton ostrich will still obey commands and come to you when called, even if you neglect to feed it. However, you will have a slower time maximizing its stats if you do not feed your pet. Since your pet will eat anything edible, it doesn't hurt to feed it items you find in the wild, such as berries, at least once every time you play.
