Soul Master Guide for MapleStory

In the "Knights of Cygnus" expansion of "MapleStory," the player class known as Soul Master was introduced. This character is primarily a warrior but has characteristics of a spell caster as well, so can be a valuable addition to your party. Any of the characters in your party can be designated as a Soul Master once this job class becomes available. Since "MapleStory" is very much about free-form gameplay and character customization, there is not one single way to level the Soul Master character, however general guidelines for the different stages of character growth can be helpful.

Soul Master Creation
- You may make one of your party characters into a Soul Master only if your primary character or one of the other characters in your party has attained level 20 or higher. The Soul Master class will not appear as an option until one of your characters is at least level 20.
Early Job Skills
- Because a Soul Master character will function much like a warrior will, it is important to invest as many points into increasing the maximum hit points job skill ("Max HP") as possible. Place all these points into the the Max HP skill until the Soul Master has maxed that skill out. This will generally happen at level 13 to 15.
Mid Level Job Skills
- The mid-level job skills are built from about 15 to about level 60. Power Slash is a strong offensive fighting skill that should be built as quickly as possible, so this skill should generally receive all job points available for allocation until it is maxed out. The Soul Blade ability, a strong fighting skill, is obtained at level 30 by allocating one job skill point. However, you may wait until level 37, at which time the skill is granted as a "Mob Skill" without needing to spend any job skill points. Once Soul Blade is acquired, the Soul Runner skill becomes available. This expanded version of the Soul Blade skill should be maxed out by around level 41. The Rage skill, important for additional power in battle, should be maxed out during levels 40 to 60. The Final Attack skill helps cement victory in battle and becomes available at level 60. Build this skill can until Sword Mastery becomes available at level 70.
High Level Job Skills
- The high level job skills are those that the Soul Master will get as the character levels up from 70 to 120. These skills will be very slow to build since leveling up is the slowest at this point in the game. Because the character has now become very powerful and has learned the most essential offensive and defensive battle skills, leveling the Soul Master up at this point is largely a matter of personal preference. The Combo Attack and its evolution, the Advanced Combo Attack, can be attained and maxed out in the levels ranging from 70 to 110. This skill links the already-learned attacks for massive combination attacks and higher damage levels. The Brandish ability allows you to hit three enemies at once and becomes available at level 100. The MP recovery skill allows your character to receive MP -- recovery from damage -- far greater than normal. When your MP Recovery skill is maxed out, which you can do from levels 100 to 120, your character will get the greatest possible levels of MP every 10 seconds.
