Five Questions for a Thief in MapleStory

Moving through your third level of Thief job advancement in "MapleStory" is no easy task. Thieves need to answer five difficult questions in order to continue on, and the penalty for failing is a pretty big setback for some players. Before you get your chance to answer the questions, you need to do some traveling and gather some items.
  1. Black Charm

    • Once you hit level 70, go talk to Arec the Thief Instructor. Find this shady character in El Nath. Arec sends you back to Kerning City to speak to the Dark Lord. The Dark Lord tasks you with journeying to the Cursed Temple in the Monkey Swamp, where you fight an evil version of himself. After you achieve victory, you are awarded the Black Charm. This item doesn't have any use other than furthering the quest.

    Necklace of Strength

    • After returning to the Dark Lord, he trades you the Black Charm for the Necklace of Strength. Take the Necklace of Strength back to Arec, who then sends you up to the second Sharp Cliff in El Nath. Before you go, make some preparations, as continuing in your thief advancement requires you to use a Dark Crystal on the Necklace of Strength. Coming by this rare material isn't always easy.

    Dark Crystal

    • Dark Crystals can be obtained from the questline "The One Who Walks Through Oblivion," but this quest isn't available until level 160. In order to get a Dark Crystal earlier on, scrounge up some Dark Crystal Ore. Ore doesn't come cheap, but if you combine six pieces with an Advanced Mold, a skilled Miner can refine a Dark Crystal. The fastest way to acquire Dark Crystal Ore is to purchase it from other players.

    Questions

    • Once you have all the items you need, head to the Holy Ground on the Sharp Cliff. Upon using your Dark Crystal on the Necklace of Strength, you are prompted to answer five multiple choice questions. If you fail to answer all five questions correctly, get another Dark Crystal before you try again. There are dozens of possible questions, and the five you are asked are chosen at random. The questions relate to people, places, quests, items, monsters and gameplay elements within "MapleStory." Sample questions include "How much EXP do you need to level up from level 1 to 2?" and "Which monster cannot be found in Maple Island?" If you're not feeling confident in your "MapleStory" trivia, study a comprehensive answer list beforehand.
