The Best Low-Level Places to Level in WoW

The "World of Warcraft" massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) starts a player off at level one. As you level up you receive access to new quests, zones, abilities, talents and equipment. You begin in a race-specific starting zone, but you can travel to other low-level zones if needed. The best low-level places to level in "World of Warcraft" all share certain characteristics with mob grouping, quest distribution and ease of travel.
  1. Azhara

    • Low-level horde characters find themselves in Azhara if they started on the Kalimdor continent. This zone is large but has a rocketpath taking you from Orgrimmar to almost all of your quest locations. The zone's storyline and flavor add an interesting element to your low-level adventure. You also have easy access to a capital city in case you need to train your skills or need supplies to continue your leveling process.

    Duskwood

    • Alliance characters, especially night elves, are well served by Duskwood. The zone has a dark and gloomy atmosphere to it that enhances the quest storylines. You have sufficient flight paths to easily roam from one end of the zone to the other. The zone is on the small side as well, so you won't have much travel time making your way from the major questing hubs that exist here.

    Stranglethorn Vale

    • Both the northern and southern halves of Stranglethorn Vale offers a multitude of quests, significant quest stacking and fast travel throughout the entire zone. This zone does suffer from overpopulation at times due to it being one of the best questing zones you'll encounter during the low-level portion of "World of Warcraft." You have enough questing zones in this area that you can move on to a different location if another player is hogging your current quest objectives. You'll start in the northern half of Stranglethorn Vale and make your way down south as you gain levels.

    Characteristics

    • While you have many low-level zone options in "World of Warcraft," a few always stand out for fast paced leveling due to specific characteristics. As you advance in levels you'll want to look for zones that have quest givers and questing areas grouped together. When you complete many quests in the same area, you spend less time traveling back and forth to the quest providers. You'll also want to avoid areas that take a long time to travel through. Certain zones, such as the Stonetalon Mountains, are difficult to navigate through due to limited paths, an expansive zone and natural barricades. You also want to be aware of the current zone population. If you find quests difficult to complete due to many other players in the zone, you may end up leveling faster in a suboptimal but deserted area.
