Ben 10: Alien Force Guide

"Ben 10: Alien Force" is a Cartoon Network show that has spawned a number of game titles available for free play through the official Cartoon Network website. These games all branch off from the main story of "Ben 10: Alien Force." The show follows Ben, a child who can turn himself into alien creatures with the use of his Omnitrix device, and his life with his cousin Gwen and his grandfather Max.
  1. Types of Games

    • The Cartoon Network website hosts a number of "Ben 10: Alien Force" games that differ in genre or in style. For instance, some of the games available through CartoonNetwork.com are arcade games. "Cannonball Pinball: Ghostfreak's Revenge" is a pinball-style arcade game, while "Blockade Blitz" is a Breakout-style game where players have to break blocks by keeping a ball bouncing with a platform that moves across the bottom of the screen. Most of the games are action games that side scroll either left-to-right or top-to-bottom. A total of 17 "Ben 10: Alien Force" games are available online for free play, as of October 2011.

    Instructions

    • Clicking on one of the game links from the "Ben 10: Alien Force" game list on CartoonNetwork.com opens the game after an advertisement plays. When the ad clears, the game screen appears in the right frame of the window. Instructions on how to play that particular game will appear in the frame left of or below the usual game window. Either the mouse or the arrow keys on a keyboard typically determine a player's movement. A few other button commands exist for character transformations or attacks; in "Critical Impact," pressing Z turns Ben into Heatblast and pressing X turns him into Ghostfreak.

    The Alien Device

    • "The Alien Device" is the lone strategy game available through Cartoon Network's "Ben 10: Alien Force" games. Players guide Ben through a predetermined story by completing various objectives. For instance, the game starts with Ben looking for his cousin Gwen. The only control is a player's mouse; to find Gwen, a player clicks on the left side of the screen to enter the park, then on the top of the screen to head to the lake. When the cursor can interact with an object in "The Alien Device," the red dot turns into a green X. A player uses this to place items in an inventory for achieving later goals or finding special items that bring points.

    Ben 10 Game Creator

    • The "Ben 10: Alien Force Game Creator" game available through Cartoon Network lets a "Ben 10: Alien Force" player build his own action games for play. When a player enters the game generator, he must choose six different aspects of the game to build a level. These include the game starter, which determines the different surfaces a player can stand on, the visual background, the hero that will play the level and the location of the goal that a player must reach. A player can also manually edit in walls, enemies and other structures to build on the basic template created by the game starter. Once finished, a player can test the level, save it for later play and send it to friends.
