Description
Work Gloves are a basic item that can be used by multiple different character classes. You must be at least level 10 to equip them, and they offer up to five upgrades. The Stirge, Wild Board, Jr., Grupin, Jr., Cellion and Potted Morning Glory monsters all drop these gloves. You can also obtain this item from the ̶0;Newbie's Gift̶1; or ̶0;Nella & Kerning Citizen's Request̶1; quests if you are level 10 or higher. ̶0;John's Present̶1; rewards you with Work Gloves if you are level 30 or higher. You can also get Work Gloves from ̶0;Helping Fix Eos Tower̶1; at level 58 or higher.
Types
Basic Work Gloves are white and provide very few bonuses. However, upgrading Work Gloves using scrolls can provide them with extra effects and stat bonuses, as well as changing their color. Rare or difficult to obtain glove variants can bring high prices on the "MapleStory" interplayer auction house, with some glove prices rising as high as 650 million mesos.
Crafting
Blacksmith characters can craft Work Gloves using 15 Leather and one Basic Abrasive. Once you have a set of Work Gloves, you can upgrade it using scrolls. Simply click the scroll once, then click the Work Gloves. You have a small chance of failure, but successful scrolling applies the benefits of the scroll to the gloves. Most scroll combinations produce higher quality gloves without unusual effects, but some rare scrolls can produce very valuable gloves.
Considerations
Work Gloves are a very popular item among "MapleStory" crafters and sellers at auction. Because any class can use these gloves -- and because they have a low level requirement -- many players purchase them early on. Work Gloves have a relatively high resale value. However, they may not be as effective at higher levels as class-specialized items such as Thief Gloves.
