Outland
Outland, a land mass floating in space, was introduced into the game with the release of "The Burning Crusade" expansion in 2007. It can be accessed by any character of level 58 or higher by crossing the Dark Portal found in the Blasted Lands zone in the southeast of the Eastern Kingdoms continent on Azeroth. This shattered world is all that remains of the planet Draenor, which was once the home world of the orc race and used as a safe haven by the Draenei refugees that gave it its name. In the end days of the Second War, as the Alliance forces invaded Draenor to seek out the Horde chieftain Ner'zhul and the powerful artifacts he had stolen, the planet was torn apart by a multitude of rifts opened by Ner'zhul in his search of new worlds to rule.
Teldrassil
This island lies to the northwest of Kalimdor; its main feature is a great tree of the same name as the island that was planted by the night elf leaders in the aftermath of the demonic invasion in a failed attempt to regain the race's lost immortality. The tree now hosts the night elf capital, Darnassus, as well as the city of Dolanaar and the starting area for low level night elf characters in the game.
Azuremyst Isles
Situated just off the coast of Kalimdor and to the south of Teldrassil, the Azuremyst Isles are most notable for hosting the crashed Naaru vessel, the Exodar, that brought the Draenei people to Azeroth. The main island, from which the chain gets its name, acts as the starting area for Draenei characters in the game and the Exodar acts as their capital and main city on Azeroth. The second most prominent island in the chain, Bloodmyst Isle, was once called Silvergale, but the radiation emitted by the Exodar's fragments has dramatically changed the ecosystem and covered the once lush island with a pervasive red mist and colored the waters and wildlife blood red, giving the island its new name. A small third island, called Silvermyst Isle, is located to the southwest of Azuremyst Isle and is included in its in-game map despite technically being a separate island. The whole chain of isles can be reached only by boat from the night elf-controlled village of Rut'theran or by a flight path available exclusively to Alliance characters, making it difficult for Horde characters to access.
Tol Barad
A prison island located to the west of Eastern Kingdoms, Tol Barad is accessible in the game only by characters of level 85 and only through portals found in the Alliance and Horde capital cities or created by mages. Although it appears on the Eastern Kingdoms map, it's impossible to fly there directly. An area focused on player-versus-player combat that prohibits the use of flying mounts, Tol Barad was introduced to the game with the "Cataclysm" expansion and sees daily struggles for its control between the Alliance and the Horde. The main prison on Tol Barad was created by the nation of Kul Tiras in the aftermath of the Second War, after the original fortress belonging to the nation of Stromgarde was razed to the ground during the Horde invasion.
Kezan and Other Isles of the South Sea
The goblin-controlled isle of Kezan is a tropical paradise found in the South Seas of Azeroth. It is the largest and most heavily populated of the multitude of islands that surround it and the center of goblin presence in the region. The city of Undermine, located underneath Kezan, is the nominal capital city of the goblin race in "Warcraft" lore, although it has never been made accessible to players. Only the northern portion of the island can be visited by players, and only by low level Goblin characters as they escape a phased version of it in the course of events leading up to the "Cataclysm" expansion; it is impossible to return to it afterwards and it is impossible for characters of another race to ever get there. The island is presently evacuated following an eruption of Mount Kajaro, and the status of Undermine is unconfirmed. Low-level goblin players also visit another chain of islands in the South Seas called the Lost Isles; similarly to Kezan, it is impossible to return to the Lost Isles after leaving them and no other character can ever get there. Other South Seas islands, such as Zandalar Isle, Tel Abim and the Broken Isles have been mentioned in "Warcraft" lore but do not currently appear in the game.
Kul Tiras
The nation of Kul Tiras played a major part in the events of the Second War, its fleets instrumental in the defeat of the Horde forces despite the heavy losses they sustained. Its leader, Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, perished during an invasion of Theramore he orchestrated shortly after the Third War; the nation̵7;s presence in "World of Warcraft" is limited to a number of scarcely populated strongholds and the main islands are not currently available in the game.
Isle of Quel'Danas
At the northernmost edge of the Eastern Kingdoms continent lies the Isle of Quel'Danas, also known as the Sunwell Isle. Its main feature is the Sunwell, a fount of magical energy that was held sacred by the high elf people for countless centuries until its eventual corruption by the invading scourge armies led by Arthas Menethil. The isle served as the location of the final conflict between the blood elves loyal to prince Kael'Thas Sunstrider and the combined armies of the Aldor and the Scryers intent on preventing the summoning of the demon lord Kil'Jaeden into Azeroth through the corrupted Sunwell. At the end of this conflict, the Sunwell was cleansed; its present-day version can be seen in the course of the Quel̵7;Delar quest chain, which was introduced into the game in the "Wrath of the Lich King" expansion. The isle itself prevents the use of flying mounts and is only accessible by characters of level 65 or higher, either through a portal from Shattrath City or by multiple flight paths available to both Alliance and Horde characters.
