̶0;Pioneer Trail̶1; Snakes
In ̶0;Pioneer Trail,̶1; snakes appear randomly as you clear debris. Debris includes grass, skulls and wildflowers. When you click on a patch of debris, your character automatically moves to the patch and clears it. When a snake appears, the area surrounding the snake turns red. You cannot perform any actions in the area until the snake is removed from your homestead. Snakes are taken care of by either clobbering the snake or using the snake cannon.
Clobbering Snakes
When a snake pops up, you can clobber it to get rid of it. Your character will move to clobber the snake when you click on it. It takes three hits to get rid of the varmint. Although you cannot circumvent the process for killing a snake with a cheat, you can increase the amount of rewards you get from doing it by not pausing between hits. Coins, food and experience points are awarded for each hit. Consecutive hits can net a higher amount of each.
Snake Cannon
The snake cannon is a decoration that is available through the market. When the cannon is purchased and placed on your homestead, you can set it off whenever a snake appears. The cannon uses a powder keg to kill the snake. During one of the missions that appears in the game, you are required to buy a snake cannon. Although the cannon knocks the snake out in one shot, it costs 5,000 coins to buy it. You also have to purchase a new powder key each time you use it.
