How to Get the Darkmoon Deck

In "World of Warcraft," you can combine Darkmoon Faire cards into decks that can be traded to a vendor, Professor Thaddeus Paleo, for trinkets during the monthly Darkmoon Faire event. New Darkmoon Faire decks have been added with every expansion pack of World of Warcraft and so it is now possible to obtain decks you can trade for level 60, 70, 80 and 85 trinkets as well as some lower level gear. To make a deck, collect a full set of cards and right click on one of the cards in your inventory.

Instructions

  1. Making Cards through Inscription

    • 1

Create low-level cards by applying rare low-level inks to parchments using your inscription skill. The ink determines the type of card you will create and a random number generator determines the number. Use Hunter's Ink for Rogues cards, Royal Ink for Mages cards, Fiery Ink for Demons cards and Dawnstar Ink for Swords cards.

    • 2

Inscribe Ink of the Sky on Heavy Parchment to make a random Level 60 Darkmoon Card. The random number generator will select the card from the Ace through Eight of Beasts, Elementals, Portals or Warlords.

    • 3

Use the rare Burning Crusade Darkflame Ink, Resilient Parchment, and Primal Life to create Level 70 Greater Darkmoon cards. Every time you use the inscription skill on these materials, you will create a card randomly selected from the Ace through Eight of Blessings, Furies, Lunacy, or Storms.

    • 4

Make Darkmoon Cards of the North from the rare Northrend Snowfall ink combined with Resilient Parchment and Eternal Life. You will receive one of the following: Ace through Eight of Chaos, Nobles, Prisms or Undeath.

    • 5

Inscribe Darkmoon Cards of Destruction using Resilient Parchment and Cataclysm materials, Inferno Ink, and Volatile Life, to make a randomly selected Ace through Eight Earthquake, Hurricane, Tsunami, or Volcanic card.

Level 60 and 70 Card Drops

    • 6

Loot cards two, three and four of each level 60 deck from random mobs outside instances and some trash mobs inside instances. They are rare drops; chances are lower than one out of three hundred. Although a few Burning Crusade mobs drop level 60 cards, they are most likely to drop from level 40 to 60 mobs in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms.

    • 7

Find Level 60 cards five to eight of each deck by killing and looting elites inside Level 60 and below instances.

    • 8

Loot level 60 aces from bosses. The Ace of Warlords drops from King Gordok in Dire Maul North, Ace of Portals from Darkmaster Gandling in Scholomance, Ace of Beasts from The Beast in Upper Blackrock Spire, and Ace of Elementals from any of several elemental bosses.

    • 9

Find Level 70 aces of all types by looting final bosses of Burning Crusade instances. Cards two through eight of all level 70 decks are low probability random drops from any Burning Crusades mobs.

    Buy or Trade Cards

    • 10

Buy complete decks on the Auction House.

    • 11

Search the Auction House for individual cards. Although you can usually find level 85 individual cards on the Auction House, it may take weeks to accumulate full decks of lower level cards by searching the Auction House.

    • 12

Ask on trade chat. Many scribes trade cards with each other regularly. If you are buying multiple decks to increase your Darkmoon Faire reputation, organize regular card trading sessions with a network of scribes.
