The Burning Blade Cavern in World of Warcraft

Background

• The Burning Blade Coven's cavern is located in the mountains along the Valley of Trials' northern border. This valley, once relatively safe for young orc and troll characters, is now suffering from the depredations of weak demons issuing from the cave. Stronger demons live further inside the cave, along with members of the Burning Blade. The coven leader is Yarrog Baneshadow, an orc warlock in possession of the Burning Blade Medallion.

Finding the Cavern

• You receive the first Burning Blade quest from Orgnil Soulscar, an orc NPC near Razor Hill. He will ask you to sack the cave and return with the coven's spellscrolls. To reach the cavern of the Burning Blade Coven, leave Razor Hill from the east at coordinates 54, 40. Follow the eastern ridge of the canyon until you reach the cave. You may encounter imps and other weak demons along the way. The cave is located above Drygulch Ravine at coordinates of 52, 28.

Combat

• To complete the quest, kill all Burning Blade Cultists in the cavern. These Level 8 to 9 characters have between 143 and 160 health and between 319 and 350 mana. They carry linen cloth, tough jerky, refreshing spring water, malachite, minor healing potions, searing collars, crawler mucus, fresh crawler meat, putrid claws or Burning Blade Spellscrolls. Collect six of the scrolls. Dying cultists may splash you with felblood, transforming you and any pets into demons for 30 seconds after five hits. You can also rescue an injured Razor Hill Grunt. This quest returns three silver and 50 copper coins, 250 reputation with Orgrimmar, 250 reputation with the Darkspear trolls and 840 experience.

Burning Blade Medallion

• Horde characters can also receive a quest to obtain the Burning Blade Medallion from Zureetha Fargaze, a Level 12 orc NPC located in the Valley of Trials. To finish this quest, kill Yarrog Baneshadow and seven Felstalkers. Yarrog is Level 5 and has 118 health and 138 mana. He drops the medallion and tough jerky. Yarrog will not drop the medallion if you don't have the quest. Upon returning to Zureetha, you can choose a reward from a set of Burning Blade Coven Gloves, Fargaze Armbands or Ouster's Leggings. You will also receive three silver coins and a minor healing potion, 500 reputation with Orgrimmar and 670 experience.
