Holding Down a Keyboard Key
Log in to your account and enter the dungeon that you want to explore. When asked if you want to play solo or with a party, select solo.
Position your character to face a wall or corner in the area in which you are playing. Corners work best, as they prevent your character from slipping out from behind the wall.
Place something on the "W" key that is small enough to fit on the key but heavy enough to keep it pressed down. Placing pennies on top of each other on the key will work just fine. Since the "W" key makes your character move forward, but the corner prevents him from wandering off, this will keep the game from logging you out.
Using an Auto Typer
Navigate to the Gary's Hood website and click on the green "Auto Typer & Clicker" button to download the software. Double-click on the file to activate it, and leave it running in the background while you play "Dungeons & Dragons Online."
Press "Alt" and "Tab" if you need to be away from your keyboard to task switch to the program in the background. Click on the "Auto Typer" button and click on "Add."
Type "W" in the message box and then click on "Add." Click on "Add" again to enter a new line and then type "S" before you click on "Add" once more. Type "10" next to the "Message" rate at the bottom of the program screen.
Click on "Start" on the program screen to activate it. Press "Alt" and "Tab" to switch back to the game. Every ten seconds, the program will activate the "W" and then the "S" keys on your keyboard. As a result, your character will take one step forward and one step back. This will keep you from being logged out when AFK, and it will also stop your character from actually going anywhere.
