Summoning
Summoning is the art of channeling spirit familiars to assist you in tasks such as fighting, foraging and healing. Familiars are summoned by filling a pouch with the correct components and infusing the pouch with power at an obelisk. Each pouch contains spirit shards, a corresponding charm and an object that represents the familiar. Summoning is only accessible to members and considered one of the most difficult skills to train for several reasons. The majority of pouches require more than 40 spirit shards, which are very costly. Players typically receive magic charms when defeated monsters drop them, as they cannot be purchased or traded. Many of the representative objects must be obtained in dangerous areas or through special activities. When you successfully assemble and infuse a pouch, you can also create summoning scrolls containing your familiar̵7;s special skill.
Cockatrice Familiars
A coraxatrice is a ̶0;RuneScape̶1; variation on the fabled cockatrice, a serpentine rooster born from a chicken egg hatched beneath a toad or snake. Similar to the traditional legend, ̶0;RuneScape̶1; cockatrice eggs are produced when a Spirit Cobra incubates the correct bird̵7;s egg. The coraxatrice is one of seven Spirit Cockatrice familiars, each of which are made by combining spirit shards, a green charm and a corresponding egg in a summoning pouch. All cockatrice familiars last for 36 minutes and have the ability to produce more of its own eggs, which you can sell for a profit. These creatures also possess a special draining ability, allowing the cockatrice to reduce a specific skill stat from your opponent.
Coraxatrice Egg
A coraxatrice egg is produced by transforming a raven̵7;s egg using a Spirit Cobra̵7;s special move, the Ophidian Incubation. Raven eggs are fairly rare and primarily obtained when you randomly receive a bird̵7;s nest while cutting trees. Raven eggs are also tradeable and available as a reward from special quests and activities, but you must have a summoning level of 63 to perform Ophidian Incubation. A coraxatrice egg is the material component used in a Spirit Coraxatrice pouch; however, independent of the pouch, it only has monetary value.
Spirit Coraxatrice
The Spirit Coraxatrice is a level 43 familiar with a magic style of attack. True to legends of the cockatrice and its mythological cousin, the basilisk, the Spirit Coraxatrice can weaken opponents by looking into their eyes. The familiar̵7;s special move, Petrifying Gaze, can drain up to 100 health points and use up one to three summoning points. Due to its ability to produce coraxatrice and cockatrice eggs, the Spirit Coraxatrice is known as a foraging familiar. When you fight opponents in a multicombat area, the coraxatrice can also attack the target. With a combat level of 64, the coraxatrice can help fend off a high-level opponent that might have otherwise overwhelmed you.
