How to Play a Duet in Mabinogi

Though the primary focus of "Mabinogi" is training your warrior to become a fearsome hero, gamers can play and enjoy brief interludes of music. If two players play different instruments or have the same "score scroll" -- written music -- then they can play music simultaneously and experience the synergistic effect of musical cooperation through the online world. Players can gain health benefits, more powerful attacks, a higher chance of making a "critical hit" on an opponent or boosts to virtually any aspect of combat.

Instructions

  Equip your character with an instrument in his right hand, which is the primary hand. Your character will learn the Playing Instrument skill that begins at a novice level. Instruct your partner to do the same.

  Place the score scroll in your character's left hand. Though players performing a duet don't have to use the same scroll, it is recommended that your companion equip the same type of scroll since the time signature and key of a scroll can vary.

  Click the scroll to select whether to play its melody or, if available, one of its chord arrangements. Your friend should pick one of the options that you don't so that the music is more diverse.

  Choose a time to begin playing simultaneously by counting down, speaking over a phone or waiting for the time to change according to the server's clock.

  Open your skill menu and select "Play Instrument" from the tab labeled "All."
