Appearance
Shadow armor is dark gray with light gray detailing. The armor looks different depending on the class of the character wearing it. Warrior Shadow Armor is bulky and sports spikes at the knee and shoulders, as well as decorative studs. The male version of this armor covers the character completely, while the female version exposes the upper thighs. This armor is cosmetic only, and does not provide any stat bonuses. Instead, it has the same statistics as the armor for the base Warrior class.
T-Shirt
To acquire the Shadow Armor, you must own the ShadowScythe T-shirt, which comes with an armor code. This T-shirt was available in red or gray on black from Artix Entertainment in September 2008. As of September 2011, it is no longer for sale. It is still possible to redeem unused codes through the Battleon website, however. Click the ̶0;Redeem̶1; button, log into your DragonFable account and then enter your shirt's code.
Considerations
While you don't need a shirt to acquire this armor, just a functional code, buying or selling codes is against the game's terms of service. DragonFable does not permit sale of any in-game content outside the game, whether for real-world money or as part of an exchange.
Bugs
When the Shadow Armor first became available, the game included a bug that allowed players to save characters wearing it as their main class. This bug has since been patched.
Doom Knight
This purchase-only armor is part of the same ShadowScythe family as the Shadow Armor. Unlike its predecessor, it gives a specific stat upgrade, offering 2 defense from Melee, Pierce and Magic attacks and 1 point in Parry, Dodge and Block. Doom Knight Armor also provides several special skills. It is available only to players who have had a Dragon Amulet for 6 months or more. Each piece costs $19.95 as of September 2011
