How Do I Play Battlefield 2142 Without Logging on to the Server?

"Battlefield 2142" from Electronic Arts provides players with large maps capable of 64-player online combat. Like other Battlefield series games, users have access to vehicles and a wide array of weaponry, each with distinct tactical advantages and shortcomings. The game is built for online play, but a new user may need to spend some time offline to learn the maps and arsenal before logging on to the server. If you start "Battlefield 2142" on your computer, it automatically establishes a server connection, but you can play offline with a simple workaround.
