Instructions
Click the Windows ̶0;Start̶1; button.
Click ̶0;Control Panel.̶1; A new window opens on your screen.
Type ̶0;Adapter̶1; in the blank text field at the top right corner of the Control Panel.
Click ̶0;View Network Connections̶1; from the list of options on your screen.
Right-click your active broadband, wireless or dial-up Internet connection. The active connection features a series of green bars, while inactive connections feature a red ̶0;X̶1; icon.
Click ̶0;Disable̶1; for a broadband connection or ̶0;Disconnect̶1; for a wireless or dial-up Internet. You may be prompted for an administrator password at this time.
Start "Battlefield 2142." The game tries to connect to the server automatically, but fails because of the disabled connection.
Click ̶0;Play Offline̶1; when presented with an on-screen prompt. You can play any map in offline mode on "Battlefield 2142" after the connection fails. The game does not have ̶0;bots,̶1; so your character wanders the empty offline level all alone, but you can explore the map or practice using various in-game items in privacy on the vacant "Battlefield 2142" level.
