Launch "Ace Assault" from the games section of LEGO's website. Click on the "Up" and "Down" arrows above the pilot selection screen to scroll through the preset pilots or choose to create your own custom pilot. Click on the "Next" button to confirm your selection.
Choose your head piece, head, torso, legs and weapon by clicking on the arrows above and below each LEGO part to build a custom pilot. Alternatively, click the "Shuffle" button to automatically build a pilot. Click on the "Next" button to confirm your selections.
Type your pilot's name with the keyboard then click on "Next." Click on the arrows above and below the ship selector to select your pilot's fighter. Designate the three upgrade points to the ship's stats, as desired, by clicking the "+" button next the stats you want to upgrade -- maneuverability, blasters, torpedoes, armor, energy and hyper drive.
Memorize the button combinations for performing the ship's special move and initiating hyper drive displayed in the bottom middle of the ship selection screen. Click on the "Next" button to confirm your ship selection options.
Click on the "Next" button to face your first opponent or click on the "Shuffle" button to shuffle which opponents you'll fight.
Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow keys on the keyboard to accelerate or slow down the ship. Press the "Left" or "Right" arrow keys to maneuver the ship left or right. Press the "Space Bar" to fire your blasters.
Dodge enemy fire by using the key combination to initiate hyper drive. Shoot your blasters and special move at your opponent to destroy his ship. Keep an eye on your ship's energy and health levels; without energy your ship is vulnerable to attack, and you can't fire torpedoes or use hyper drive. Defeat all of your opponents to unlock characters, extra items and new ships.
