The Main Orc & Troll Cities in World of Warcraft

Orcs and trolls have very different histories in "World of Warcraft." Orcs are a relatively new race, having come to Azeroth from their old home world of Draenor, while troll tribes have inhabited both the Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms continents since ancient history. Despite this, orcs are the predominant force in the Horde, while trolls are for the most part hostile and disorganized. Only a small tribe, the Darkspear trolls, is allied with the Horde. In addition to the orc capital of Orgrimmar, orcs also hold other settlements, chief amongst which is the city of Garadar. The Darkspear trolls, on the other hand, hold only the small town of Sen'jin Village, with several large troll cities held by hostile tribes.
  1. Orgrimmar

    • Founded by Thrall and named for Orgrim Doomhammer, the former war-chief of the Horde, Orgrimmar is located at the northern edge of Durotar, in the continent of Kalimdor. Serving as the de facto capital not only for the orc race, but also for the entire Horde faction, the city hosts several banks, inns and auction houses, as well as two zeppelin towers and a portal hub. Orgrimmar is divided into four sections: the Valley of Honor, the Valley of Wisdom, the Valley of Spirits and the Valley of Strength. This last valley is the core of the city, hosting not only service structures but also Grommash Hold, the well-defended fortress where Garrosh Hellscream, the current war-chief of the Horde, resides. The Valley of Spirits hosts mainly trolls, with a small corner termed the "goblin slums" reserved for goblins, while the Valley of Wisdom serves as the tauren district.

    Sen'jin Village

    • Although it is not a major city, Sen'jin Village is the closest thing to a capital city the Darkspear trolls have. Located on the southern shore of Durotar, this town is named for Sen'jin, the former leader of the trolls; Vol'jin, Sen'jin's son and the current leader of the trolls, founded it after the traitor Zalazane drove the trolls from the nearby Echo Isles. Sen'jin Village is the first town freshly created troll characters encounter after leaving the now reclaimed Echo Isles.

    Garadar

    • Located in the north of Nagrand, in the Outland continent, Garadar is the home city of the Mag'har, a faction composed of various orc clans that remained uncorrupted by the Burning Legion. This city is named for Garad, the now deceased leader of the Frostwolf Clan and the grandfather of Thrall. Before he was chosen by Thrall as the new war-chief of the Horde, Garrosh Hellscream served as the military leader of Garadar. Players may raise their reputation with the Mag'har in order to obtain various rewards, including unique talbuk mounts.

    Hostile Troll Kingdoms

    • Not all troll tribes are affiliated with the Horde. The Sandfury, Amani and Gurubashi trolls are hostile to all players, regardless of their affiliation; the troll cities of Zul'Farrak, Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub serve as the capital cities for these tribes. Zul'Farrak is located in the northwest of Tanaris, in the Kalimdor continent, while Zul'Gurub is located on the eastern edge of Northern Stranglethorn and Zul'Aman in the southeastern corner of Ghostlands, in the Eastern Kingdoms continent. All three cities are designed as dungeons for players to fight through in order to obtain powerful equipment.
