Where to Get Mage Shields in MapleStory

"MapleStory" is a massively multiple online role-playing game with a variety of weapons, armor and items. Like most MMORPGs, the game features different equipment for different classes. The Magician class has its own equipment, including shields. Proper defensive equipment is important for Magicians because their defense is lower than the warrior classes.

Mystic Shield
- The Mystic Shield is the most basic and least valuable of the four Magician's shields. It is a Level 22 item, which means your character must be at least Level 22 to wield it. There are seven upgrades available to the Mystic Shield, and it has a basic resale value of 30,000 mesos. The Mystic Shield is obtained from the monsters Chronos, Propelly and Black Crow. Chronos is located on the Path of Time, Propelly is in EoS Tower and the Black Crow is found during the Encounter with Buddha quest. It gives a +10 boost to Weapon Defense and Magic Defense.
Esther Shield
- The Esther Shield is less common and twice as valuable as the Mystic Shield. It has a resale value of 65,000 mesos. Like the Mystic Shield, the Esther Shield is found only as a drop from monsters. Both Platoon Chronos and Nightmare drop the shield once defeated. Platoon Chronos is located along the Path of Time and in Lost Time. Nightmare is located in the Haunted Mansion. The Esther Shield gives a +15 boost to Weapon Defense and +20 boost to Magic Defense. It also has seven upgrades available.
Maple Magician Shield
- The Maple Magician Shield is a promotional item given out on the anniversary of the game. It is a Level 64 shield with a +31 bonus to Weapon Defense and +51 to Magic Defense. During the anniversary event, you can trade 2000 Maple Leaves and one Maple Shield for the Maple Magician Shield. Alternatively, you can purchase the shield from the game's auction site, Basilmarket. However, the shield is rare and costs anywhere from 20 to 30 million mesos on the auction site.
Timeless Prelude
- The Timeless Prelude is a Level 120 shield and only available through crafting. It provides a Weapon Defense of 60 and a Magic Defense of 120. It also provides a +5 Intelligence boost. To create the Timeless Prelude, you need the Blacksmith job and the following ingredients: one Timeless Prelude Recipe, three Dark Crystals, five Advanced Abrasive, one Rock of Time and two Advanced Item Crystals. Most of the components are relatively rare. The Timeless Prelude sells on Basilmarket for 12 to 20 million mesos.
