How to Make a Texture Pack Folder on Minecraft Alpha

"Minecraft," an open-ended indie computer game, uses a texture pack folder for many graphics in the game. If this folder is damaged, missing or corrupted, you may need to remake the folder for your Minecraft game to work properly. The developers did not include the texture pack folder in the main game directory. Instead, it is placed in an application data subfolder you need to find before getting to the texture pack folder's original location.

Instructions

    • 1

      Click "Start" and "Computer."

    • 2

Double-click the drive letter for your primary system drive. Your system drive contains your operating system, and it is typically listed as your C drive.

    • 3

Double-click "Users." Double-click the folder with your user name.

    • 4

Double-click "Appdata." The Appdata folder is a hidden system folder, so you may not be able to see it without the proper settings. Click "Tools" and "Folder Options" if you cannot see this folder. Click "View." Click "Show Hidden Files and Folders." Click "Apply" and "OK." Double-click "Roaming."

    • 5

Double-click ".minecraft." Look for the folder labeled "texturepacks." Right-click an empty space in your .minecraft folder if the texturepacks folder is not present. Click "New" and "Folder." Name the folder "texturepacks."
