How to Find the Head of the River in Hinterlands in World of Warcraft

Distress Beacon Quest

  Travel to Hillsbrad Foothills located in the northern half of the Eastern Kingdoms continent. Head to Durnholde Keep located near the eastern border of the zone. Follow the path that travels through the mountains to the north, which leads to The Hinterlands.

  Follow the path north until you reach the fork in the road. Take the path leading east and continue in that direction, going past the next three forks in the road. Defeat the random enemies you encounter until you are rewarded with the "OOX-09/HL Distress Beacon" item. Right-click the item and accept the "Find OOX-09/HL!" quest.

  Head east at the crossroads, then follow the path leading north from the next fork in the road. Continue along the road until you reach a lake. Swim to the large rock located near the south shore of the lake.

  Examine the rock and find the non-playable character named "Homing Robot 00X-09/HL." Right-click the character to open the quest window. Select the "Find OOX-09/HL!" option. Click the "Complete Quest" button at the bottom of the window to complete the quest.

Jintha'alor

  Follow the main road east through The Hinterlands until you reach the fork that leads south to Jintha'alor.

  Continue along the path as it winds through Jintha'alor. Defeat or evade any enemies you encounter as you travel. Head right at the first fork in the path and travel up the stairs.

  Head north until you reach a wall. Turn left to find the source of the river.
