Obelisks
There are three types of obelisks in RuneScape, with each providing different abilities to players. Wilderness obelisks allow subscribing players to teleport to and from specific locations. Summoning obelisks allow players to create pouches used in the summoning of creatures and to recharge their summoning power. Elemental obelisks such as the Water Obelisk allow players to create and charge orbs of their corresponding elemental power.
Water Obelisk Location
The Water Obelisk is located on an island near the city of Catherby, though it cannot be accessed directly from the city. Players must enter the Taverley Dungeon beneath the village of Taverley, fighting their way through the dungeon to the far left side of the level where black dragons are located. A ladder near the black dragon den takes the player up out of the dungeon and onto the island where the Water Obelisk is found.
Using the Obelisk
Elemental obelisks are activated by casting specific spells on them and are used to charge glass orbs that the player has crafted or purchased with a specific type of elemental power. The spell used to activate the Water Obelisk is "Charge Water Orb" which causes the obelisk to transform an uncharged orb that the player previously crafted into a Water Orb. Once the transformation is complete and the orb is fully charged, it can be used to craft one of two powerful items.
Water Orb Uses
Players use Water Orbs to craft two different items in RuneScape. At level 56 or greater, players can craft a Water Battlestaff by crafting a standard battlestaff and a charged Water Orb together. At level 80 or greater, players can craft a Hydra summoning pouch at a summoning obelisk by crafting 128 Spirit Shards, a Green Charm and a charged Water Orb together.
