How to Use a Controller Role on DC Universe Online

The world of DC superheroes and villains comes to life in its MMORPG interpretation, "DC Universe Online." Characters select a mentor -- either good or evil -- and set off into the world to fully harness their abilities. Players who choose either the "Gadget" or "Mental" powers can eventually use the "controller" role, which primarily serves to hinder the efforts of opposing forces while improving the effectiveness of teammates.

Unused character slot

Instructions

- 1
  Log in to your "DC Universe Online" account, and select an empty character slot to begin the character creation process.

  Select your character's sex, body size, moral tendency, personality, movement style and mentor.

  Choose either the "Gadgets" or "Mental" power for your character, since these are the only types who can be a controller.

  Defeat computer-controlled enemies that populate the world and complete quests for those nonplayable characters (NPCs) who offer them to earn experience and ultimately increase in "level," which is a measure of overall power.

  Attain level 10 to automatically receive the "controller role." Expand the "stance" option on your interface, and toggle "Controller" to begin using this role.
