Enter the Hibernation Chamber inside the island's windmill.
Use your multi-tool on the machine powering the Hibernation Center, causing it to light up. Some of the island's characters will emerge to thank you and explain the situation.
Retrieve the Toxic Blaster on the right side of the room. You need to jump from platform to platform to reach it. Walk to the mech suit and use the Toxic Blaster on it to attach the weapon, then get into the mech suit and take the elevator down to the lower level.
Aim with your mouse and press the space bar to fire your toxic blaster at the malicious plants in this room. Jump onto the moving platform when it moves into range and take it to the doorway at the far end, which leads to a "boss fight."
Approach each of the three boss characters individually, provoking an attack on their parts. When one lunges its head forward to hit you, jump out of the way, then shoot your toxic blaster at its head. Do this three times per monster. After one is defeated, the other two will begin hurling projectiles at you that you have to dodge. Additionally, the bottom of the room begins to fill with acid at the battle's outset, giving you a limited amount of time before it reaches you and restarts the battle.
Defeat the last of the bosses to trigger a scripted event in which the mayor rewards you with the Steamworks Island medallion.
