Requirements for the Hunt for Surok in RuneScape

Quest Requirements

• Completing What Lies Below is a prerequisite for The Hunt for Surok. In this quest, you first meet the evil mage Surok Magis. Depending on what route you took while completing the quest, you may also have discovered an entrance to the Chaos Tunnels beneath the Saradomin Statue in Varrock.

Slayer Skill

• The Chaos Tunnels are full of aggressive monsters. Some of them are Slayer monsters, such as bronze dragons; you require the Slayer skill to defeat them. You will need to have a Slayer skill level of at least 44 to undertake The Hunt for Surok.

Other Recommended Skills

• Although not prerequisites for the quest, certain skills are recommended for this miniquest. You will be fighting many aggressive and powerful creatures, so a high Combat level is a good idea, as is a Prayer level of 43 or above and a Mining level of 42. As well, you must be capable of killing a Level 267 monster.

Equipment

• The Chaos Tunnels are a dangerous area where you can easily be killed. You should not bring any items that you are not prepared to lose. You may be teleported to random locations and can suddenly find yourself up against fire-breathing dragons, so it's a good idea to equip a Dragonfire shield. Wear armor with a high defence. It is easy to get lost in the tunnels, so bring an item that will let you teleport out if you need to, such as a teleport tablet. You will need to run for long periods; a run energy source is invaluable.

Food and Potions

• Bring high-quality food items, such as Shark, that restore plenty of life so that you can heal while you're in the tunnels. Bring plenty of potions, especially Prayer potions. Some of the monsters you'll encounter are poisonous, so bring an antipoison.
