How to Build a Pirate in Post-Big Bang MapleStory

Pirate is a character class in the online role-playing adventure game "MapleStory." Big Bang was an upgrade to the entire game applied by the developers in 2010. Each "MapleStory" character advances through four Job levels, and Pirate characters can develop through different sub-classes. A Pirate character can go on to become either a Brawler (a strong close-range fighter) or a Gunslinger (a powerful ranged attacker). This means that there is no one particular skill build for a Pirate character -- you decide how you want your character to develop and choose Jobs accordingly.

Instructions

  Start a new game of "MapleStory" and select " Create New Character." Choose the Beginner class to play the regular "MapleStory" storyline rather than those introduced in the Big Bang update, and build up to Level 10 by gaining experience points from quests and battles.

  Go to Lith Harbor on Victoria Island and take a taxi to Nautilus Port. Talk to the nonplayer character Kyrin to choose Pirate as your First Job.

  Build your character up to Level 30 and head back to Nautilus Port. Speak to Kyrin again and you will be given a choice between becoming a Brawler or a Gunslinger. Accept the initiation quest and kill Octopi monsters on the map you are transported to until you have collected 15 Crystal items. Take these back to Kyrin to advance to your Second Job, Brawler or Gunslinger.

  Continue to level up your character until you reach Level 70. Go to El Nath in Ossyria and speak to Pedro, before heading back to Nautilus to talk to Kyrin. Go to the Cave of Evil Eye II area and enter the Forbidden Altar of the Cursed Temple and kill the evil version of Kyrin to get the Black Charm.

  Take the Black Charm to Kyrin in Nautilus and you will get the Necklace of Strength. Take this to Pedro, then go to the Sharp Cliff II area of El Nath. Use a Dark Crystal on the stone in the Holy Ground and you will be asked five general questions about things you will have encountered in the game. Answer them correctly to get the Necklace of Wisdom. Take the Necklace of Wisdom back to Pedro, and you will advance to your Third Job. Gunslingers will become Outlaws, and Brawlers will become Marauders.

  Level up your character to Level 120 to unlock the Fourth Job advancement. Talk to Pedro in El Nath, then go to the Valley of the Antelope in Leafre. Head through the portal at the top-right to find Samuel, the Fourth Job instructor, and he will ask you to find a Heroic Star and a Heroic Pentagon.

  Go to Eos Tower and head up to the 66th floor. Speak to the non player character Vega and buy the Secret Spell Scroll from him for 10 million gold. Take the scroll to Chief Tatamo in Leafre and he will give you the Heroic Star and Pentagon. Speak to Samuel in the Valley of the Antelope again to advance to the Fourth Job. Outlaw characters will become Corsairs and Marauders will become Buccaneers.
