How to Become a Master Wild Hunter in MapleStory

The "Wild Hunter" is a job class in the free massive multiplayer online role playing game "MapleStory." This class is known for riding around on impressive jaguar mounts which give them great speed and mobility. To become a master Wild Hunter takes time and patience, as you have to earn enough experience to master all the skills that are available to the job type. The higher your character level is, the more experience it takes to reach the next level, and with a maximum level of 200, it will take a while for your character to become a master.

Instructions

    • 1

Start the game and log into your "MapleStory" account. Double-click on the world and then the channel in which you want to play.

    • 2

Click "Create a character" from the signpost on the right-hand side of the game screen. Click the "Resistance" class, which is the one with the purple background on the top left row of the selection screen.

    • 3

Click "Ok" and type a name for your character. Click "Ok" and customize your character̵7;s features, such as hair and eyes, to your liking. Click "Ok" and click "Start."

    • 4

Study the basic controls shown on your screen and click "Ok" to begin playing. Pay attention to the storyline and keep playing until you are approached by a character that tells you about the "Resistance." The game is mostly a tutorial before this happens, so you can not really go wrong. Afterward, you will be in the town of Edelstein. Your class will be "Citizen" at this point.

    • 5

Speak to the headmaster of Edelstein, Ferdi. He is the man with the top hat, cane and monocle standing in front of the school. Follow his instructions on how to level up. Perform all the missions you get from the townspeople he directs you to in order to gain experience and level up your character.

    • 6

Use the invitation letter you receive from Ferdi once you reach level 10 to make contact with the Resistance instructor. Her name is Claudine and she is easily recognized by her black hat and mask.

    • 7

Speak to Belle the Wild Hunter instructor after you are finished with Claudine. Belle is the girl with the red hair and green cap standing just below Claudine. If you speak with the other instructor, you will become a mechanic and not a Wild Hunter.

    • 8

Click "Yes" to accept the job when she offers it to you. After the conversation with her, "Black Jack," the jaguar sleeping in the straw, will speak to you and explain how to capture a jaguar mount of your own. Having a jaguar mount to ride is one of the most notable features of the Wild Hunter class.

    • 9

Press "Ctrl" to attack one of the wild jaguars in the area that Black Jack teleports you to. Press "K" on your keyboard and double-click "Capture" once you have the jaguar's health below half. The words "Captured" will appear to show you have successfully caught your own mount.

    • 10

Speak to Belle and she will give you your next mission. Walk left and then press "Up" in front of the portal to reach the next area. Continue left and then talk to Elex who is the basic training instructor.

    • 11

Perform all the tasks that Elex gives your character. This will bring your character̵7;s level up to 14. The tasks all involve killing a certain amount of enemies found in the training room to the left of Elex.

    • 12

Return to Belle once you reach level 14 in order to receive your first actual mission for the Resistance. Keep doing missions and other quests to receive experience and level up.

    • 13

Press "K" every time your character levels up and click the green arrow next to the skill that you want to increase. The amount of available skill points displays at the bottom of the skill inventory screen. If the arrow next to a skill is greyed out, even if you have skill points, it means you have "mastered" that skill.

    • 14

Continue playing and advancing through the job ranks for the Wild Hunter. You get job advancement at levels 30, 70 and 120. The maximum level for the Wild Hunter is 200. It will take a long time to reach, but once you have maxed out your skills and reached the highest level, you will truly be able to call your character a Master Wild Hunter.
