Dragonbone Ring on World of Warcraft

The Dragonbone Ring is a rare-quality ring dropped by a single, specific enemy in "World of Warcraft." Although obtaining this ring is simply a matter of tracking down the enemy that drops it, obtaining a useful version could prove harder and may require multiple attempts due to the ring's randomly enchanted property.
  1. About the Dragonbone Ring

    • The Dragonbone Ring requires level 63, binds to a character when equipped and is unique-equipped. This latter property means that, even if you obtain two Dragonbone Rings, you will only be able to equip one of them at a time. Additionally, the Dragonbone Ring is randomly enchanted. When one drops, the game randomly chooses a suffix to assign to it from a list of 34 possible suffixes. The ring gains stats and changes its name to match the chosen suffix: a Dragonbone Ring of the Elder grants 15 intellect, 15 spirit and 23 stamina, while a Dragonbone Ring of the Soldier grants 15 strength, 15 critical strike rating and 23 stamina. Disenchanting the Dragonbone Ring produces a Small Prismatic Shard.

    Obtaining a Dragonbone Ring

    • The Dragonbone Ring is dropped by Crippler, a level 65 rare spawn enemy that patrols in the Auchindoun area of Terokkar Forest, a zone in the Outland continent. Because this area is often frequented by players and Crippler appears only rarely, it may take you some time to find and kill him. Dragonbone Rings with various suffixes may also appear on the auction house, placed there by players who killed Crippler but have no use for the ring. If you want a Dragonbone Ring but don't care whether you buy it from the auction house or kill Crippler yourself, check the auction house regularly.

    Considerations

    • Even if you can track down and kill Crippler, the wide variety of available suffixes for the Dragonbone Ring means that you have a high chance of obtaining a ring with stats that are useless to you. For example, the "of the Bandit," "of Agility," "of the Tiger" and "of the Monkey" suffixes would be useful to a rogue character, while the remaining 30 suffixes wouldn't be. Additionally, certain suffixes, such as "of the Gorilla," "of the Boar" or "of the Wolf," provide a mix of stats that would truly benefit no class in the game. If you are lucky, you may find a Dragonbone Ring with an useful suffix. However, if you are simply looking for a good ring for your level 63 character, consider looking into alternative rings rather than spending time looking for Crippler.

    Similar Items

    • All rare spawn enemies found in both the Outland and the Northrend continents drop rare quality randomly enchanted gear when killed. For example, Ever-Core the Punisher, a robot found in the Netherstorm zone, drops the Arcane Loop ring, a ring, while Chief Engineer Lorthander, a blood elf in the same zone, drops the Illidari Cloak. Hemathion, a dragon found in the Blade's Edge Mountains zone, drops chestpieces of all four armor types, while Ambassador Jerrikar, a satyr found in Shadowmoon Valley, drops bracers of all four armor types.
