Smelting

• Characters with the mining profession also have the smelting ability. Miners can convert copper ore into copper bars. Other professions, such as blacksmithing and engineering, use the copper bars to create low-level crafted items such as armor, weapons and gadgets. You can click the "Spellbook" icon at the bottom of the screen, select "Professions" and click the "Smelting" icon to open the smelting window. Your character must be near a forge object in the world to smelt ore into bars.

Jewelcrafting

• The jewelcrafting profession also uses copper ore. Jewelcrafters have the prospect skill, which destroys copper ore and creates low-level gems such as malachite, tigerseye and shadowgem. Jewelcrafters use the prospected gems to craft jewelry and other objects. Gems can also be found occasionally while mining copper veins, but jewelcrafters need a larger quantity of gems for their profession. Jewelcrafters also use copper bars to craft items such as copper rings and delicate copper wire.

Blacksmithing

• Blacksmiths use copper ore to craft pieces of low-level copper armor and copper weapons. Blacksmiths can create copper vests, pants, bracers, boots and belts. Blacksmiths can also craft a variety of different copper weapons, including swords, daggers, claymores, axes, mauls and darts. Higher-level pieces of copper armor and weapons also include a boost to a character's stamina, which provides health, and strength, which increases melee damage.

Engineering

• Engineers can craft a variety of tools, ingredients and gadgets from copper bars. Copper bars can produce an arclight spanner, handful of copper bolts, copper tube or copper modulator. Engineers require these items to craft gadgets such as bombs, guns, scopes, target dummies, mechanical squirrel pets and explosives that open doors and chests.

Smelting Bronze

• Miners can also use copper bars and tin bars with the smelting skill to create bronze bars. Using the smelt bronze skills consumes a copper bar and a tin bar to produce a bronze bar. Professions that use metals such as blacksmithing, engineering and jewelcrafting can craft bronze items with bronze bars. Miners smelt tin bars from tin ore, which are mined from tin veins. Tin veins are located in higher-level zones than copper veins are.
