Instructions
Open the "World of Warcraft" program folder and locate the Interface folder contained within. Copy the Tongues add-on folder to the subfolder labeled "AddOns." Launch "World of Warcraft" and log in to the game. Select any character and click "Enter World."
Find the "Tongues" button, located in the center of the screen. Click and drag the button to any convenient location on the screen. Right-click the button to bring up the Tongues Menu window.
Select one of the languages available in the Languages menu. Open the Dialect menu and select the desired option. Repeat with the options in the Affect menu. Adjust the slider located below the Affect menu to adjust how much of your character's speech will be affected by the dialect and affect filters.
Locate the check box labeled "Automated Language Learning." Click to check this box if you want your character to automatically start learning unknown languages spoken by other people using the Tongues add-on.
Click the button labeled "Understand." Locate the text box labeled "Language" and input the name of a new language that you wish your character to understand; note that your character will only understand the language if the speaker is also using the Tongues add-on.
Click "Set" to add the language to your list. Use the slider located underneath the Language text box to adjust how well your character understands the language.
Click the "Advanced Options" button, located at the bottom of the Tongues Menu window. Select the check boxes located next to any communication channels that you wish to refrain from using the Tongues add-on in. Close the Tongues Menu window by clicking the "X" box in the upper-right corner.
